When the creatures only he and his brother could see began showing up more and more around them, Mathew took his brother and ran away from home to try to save his parents from danger. Constantly on the run, Mathew had to grow up quick to keep him and his brother safe. Learning how to make a quick dollar, and how to stretch money as far as possible were skills he soon learned. The one thing he always struggled with though wasn’t the running, or the creatures that harassed them, but trying to be a good parent figure for Miles.

Though Mathew doesn’t usually allow himself to spare time for hobbies, he does have a few he wished he could follow. For one, he has always been enamored with the game of Magic, and last yuletide bought himself a Green Deck, which he hasn’t had the chance to use yet. He also has a massive sweet tooth, and would love to spend a day with an unlimited budget wandering around the nearest city trying out every confectionary treat he could. But the closest indulgence he allows himself at the moment is daydreaming such an event.
